Amidst this Corona Pandemic, one comforting factor was that my Maharashtra Sainiks were going ahead, putting their lives at risk to reach out to those who needed help. Right from the distribution of grains and foodstuff to ensuring the availability of beds in hospitals and also comforting the families of the affected.
Jai Maharashtra !
It’s been a while, since I’ve had any correspondence with you all. It gives me immense pleasure to do it today.
Since March, we have been engulfed by the coronavirus pandemic and it’s pervaded our lives enormously. Even today, it’s intensity has not diminished.
I had earlier mentioned in my news channel interview, that till there is no vaccine or cure for this virus, we will have to prepare ourselves mentally and physically to live with it. It does appear, Maharashtra has taken steps to prepare itself for this eventuality.
Last 2-3 months, we have been surrounded by a very dismal scenario, which has deeply saddened my mind. Amidst this upheaval, one comforting factor was that my Maharashtra Sainiks were going ahead, putting their lives at risk and spending from their pockets to reach out to those who needed help. Right from distribution of grains and food stuff to ensuring the availability of beds in hospitals and also comforting the families of the affected. I was receiving information of such acts of kindness of my Maharashtra Sainiks, which made me immensely happy and proud at the same time. I was receiving positive feedback from various quarters about the courage and kindness displayed by my Maharashtra Sainiks.
I stand overwhelmed and find myself blessed to have such colleagues as you all.
Whilst performing their duties, each day, my Maharashtra Sainik was putting their life at risk and many of them were affected by the virus. This did not deter them from going ahead and nor did their families back down too. This courage and spirit stems from their devout devotion to their Maharashtra state. I humbly salute your spirit and the courage and sacrifices made by your family.
Another point, I have to make is that on 14th June, being my birthday; we will not be able to meet up the way we do each year. The sole reason being, the current turbulent situation. So many people have lost their lives and many more are in anguish and suffering. There is not respite from this coronavirus pandemic. The entire atmosphere is gloomy and sombre.
In such times, a birthday celebration doesn’t feel right. I earnestly instruct and request all my party office bearers to not come by and wish me personally. I expect you’ll to stay where you’ll are and continue your efforts in helping others.
This would be my best birthday wish and gift from you all.
I applaud your efforts in helping those in need and do continue on this path. However, please take good care and adequate precautions to keep yourself and your families safe. Nothing is more valuable to me, than your life.
When normalcy is restored, I will personally come and meet you all.
Till then, stay well and safe.
Humbly yours,
Raj Thackeray
