International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March.I honestly fail to understand, why should this be celebrated only on one chosen day?

My grandfather, Prabodhankar Thackeray used to always declare that, “ Brothers, the more respect one garners in one’s heart for women, one will receive greater admiration from Shivraya” In the way, one should commemorate the greatness of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through out the year, in the same way, womanhood needs to be celebrated and respected all year through. They are the true essence and form the core of our realm.

In one of my speeches, I had made a statement regarding our mothers and sisters. I reiterate it here again. No one can to try to make you capable, you in yourself are an accomplished and capable being. Reach in to your innate intelligence and brilliance!!Nothing can stop you from reaching out to the sufferings that most women are facing. Be their pillar and then witness the strength of womanhood. No one dare to victimise women again.

All the women who are in the political arena and social work sphere, I strongly appeal to you all, to break the shackles and emerge victorious. You’ll have the power to take your own decisions. Be the change, you’ll want to see. You all have it in you, to change this world. Believe in yourselves!!
