It’s a moment of great pride for me and the entire Marathi community to see our very own Marathi man being selected for the position of a Dean in the prestigious Harvard Business School.

This institute established in 1908 in Boston, ranks amongst the top five educational institutions of the world.

Today, numerous young marathi girls and boys are keen to pursue their higher education abroad, Harvard being one of the most sought after. What can be more satisfying to note, than to witness a Marathi man at the helm of this prestigious seat of education.

Whilst going through the journey of Shri. Srikant Datar, I was left amazed. To begin with, a chartered accountant, an added IIM management degree. A PhD from Stanford University, a professor at the Carnegie Mellon University and at the Harvard University and now a dean at Harvard Business School.

Whilst going through the archives of past students of Harvard Business School, two names stood out, namely Rahul Bajaj from Maharashtra and our former Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram. ( presently he represents Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha) Apart from these, not many names came to light.

It’s my earnest wish to witness in future, many young and bright torch bearers of our Marathi pride being featured in the list of Harvard Business School.

Today, we stand on the threshold of a fourth industrial revolution. It’s overwhelming to see our Marathi youth in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, genetics etc.

I wholeheartedly wish that our youth can benefit from the experience and tutelage of Srikant Datar and they emerge as forerunners in the fourth industrial revolution.

On behalf of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, I wholeheartedly congratulate Shri. Srikant Datar and look forward to witness the growth and success of my Marathi people.
